Brand New Face

Well as you can see I gave my blog a new face! Much better than the old one! I also like the fact that now I can title my articles and add a cool link everyday. Well today's link comes courtesy of Ryan who showed me this site which was originally called Useless Knowledge.com. It's a great site for quote of the day, today in history, trivia, geo trivia, that explains it, entertainment trivia and more! Check it out if you're head is empty today!

There's my shameless plug for the day...hmmm I sound like a radio commercial!

I feel like giving my own quotation of the day though. Speaking of that it really irks me when people say "quote of the day" because it is improper use of the word quote. It should actually be Quotation of the day. Quote is to be used when you say "Don't quote me on that." Quote is not a thing and cannot be used as such. Sorry...that's something I picked up from my English teacher. My favourite English teacher Mrs. Perrier.

I saw her the other day at the choral group concert and she told me I was always one of her favourite students. She said that I hadn't changed and was still the same happy smiling face I was in highschool. I'm not sure whether that is good or bad. It reminded me how for me it's so easy to pretend I'm happy to certain people in my life while others get blasted with my overpowering depression.

To some people I'm ever-happy Cindy to others I'm always depressed and down on herself Cindy. Hmmm two faces...not a good thing.

Ok here's my "Quotation of the Day"

"The trick is to keep exploring and not bail out, even when you find out that something is not what you thought. Nothing is what we thought. Emptiness is not what we thought. Neither is mindfulness or fear. Compassion. Love. Courage. These are code words for things we don’t know in our minds, but any of us could experience. These words point to what life really is when we let things fall apart and let ourselves be nailed to the present moment...The only place ever to work is right now." ~Pema Chodron

This is what is on my mind. I had a nice chat with Ryan last night. He allowed me to think through some stuff and just get it out because I was starting to tie knots of myself by keeping it in. It didn't solve any of the problems but it alleviated all that emotion that was built up. Things right now are just SO frustrating.

Oh forget the quotation of the day I like this one too and it's an issue in my life for sure!

"The hardest thing in life is to know which bridge to cross and which to burn."
-- David Russell

I sometimes get criticized for leaving certain bridges intact. But I think in the long run I will be glad that I did. But only time will tell.
